3 Volunteer Hours

Backpack Stuffing Shift #1 - 9-11:30am @ CPC, Danville. You will be putting together Backpacks of Hope. Each one is very special, and we take great care putting them together. Each person will have the opportunity to stuff 2 backpacks. We will give you a picture of the child (if provided), first name, age, likes, hobbies, etc. We will also give you siblings' names and ages as we include gifts for both the patient and their siblings in each Backpack. We will give you verbal instructions and a list of what goes into the Backpack. We'll have items laid out for you or easily accessible. When finished, we will have you box up the Backpack, so it is ready to go to the Post Office and on to each child. Adults and kids in middle school or older are best suited for this special project.# of Volunteers Needed: 4
Why: Nephrotic Syndrome is a serious and rare auto-immune disease that affects the kidneys and stops them from working. It's very hard to treat and often requires years of serious cancer/transplant medications, which themselves come with severe, often debilitating side effects. "Backpacks of Hope" were created to provide support to children and families receiving this life-changing diagnosis and to ensure that they are not alone. We are excited to have your help with The Nephrotic Syndrome Foundation's Backpacks of Hope project.
